President Obama and first daughters Malia and Sasha headed to the Department of Interior’s basketball courts to shoot some hoops Sunday. Perhaps the president was warming up for Monday’s White House guests.
He’s set to entertain the Los Angeles Lakers, who won the NBA title last year. Coach Phil Jackson and Hall of Famer Earvin “Magic” Johnson are expected to attend, too.
Also, reality TV star Khloe Kardashian, wife of Lakers forward Lamar Odom, will be in town for the photo op, but won’t stick around for Tuesday’s game against the Wizards, her rep confirmed Monday.
Obama is no stranger to welcoming sports teams to the executive mansion. Previously, he’s hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Phillies, among others, for their big wins. The Oregon State men’s basketball team also received a tour, in part, because the president’s brother-in-law, Craig Robinson, is the head coach.
