Former President George H.W. Bush was rushed to the hospital after he experienced what a spokesman referred to as “shortness of breath,” the Houston Chronicle reported Tuesday night.
An ambulance took the elder Bush, 90, to the Houston Methodist Hospital as a precaution and the former president will remain there under observation until further notice.
President Obama’s spokesman Eric Schultz issued a statement late Tuesday night to the press pool chronicling Obama’s vacation in Hawaii, in which he said, “The president has been made aware that President Bush was admitted to the hospital. President Obama and the first lady send their good wishes to the former president and the entire Bush family during this holiday season.”
