29 – That’s the number of safety violations found at Jerry’s Famous Deli, the Miami sandwich shop where President Obama lunched last week (according to the updated inspection report on the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Web site).
Some of the 19 critical violations for which the deli was cited? “Potentially hazardous raw and cooked foods held at improper temperatures, small flying insects in dry storage area, improper hand washing facility, bare-hand contact of ready-to-eat food by employees, slime buildup on soda dispensing fountain nozzles and one live roach found on ice cream toppings.”
The president ordered two corned beef hash sandwiches and ate there. Customers now call the sandwich “The Obama Special.”
The violations since have been corrected. Yum.
