Trump again asks people to pledge their support to him

Donald Trump again asked attendees of his rally to raise their hands and pledge their support to him, after drawing fierce criticism for requesting the oath over the weekend.

“Should we do the pledge, should we do the pledge?” Trump shouted Monday in North Carolina. “Raise your hand, ‘I swear I’m going to vote for Donald Trump next week. I swear.’ … Oh wow just with the people here, I think we win, right?”

Some of Trump’s detractors, including the Huffington Post, noted the Saturday pledge’s similarities to a “scene from Nazi Germany.” Trump continued to perform the pledge Monday despite the criticism, and will likely earn a lot of free media attention as a result.

North Carolina will vote on Tuesday, March 15.
