No more Congressional sleepovers?

It’s been common for lawmakers to stay the night in their offices on blow-up mattresses while working late. But Politico reports that the watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) wants to put a stop to that practice on the Hill, or at least levy a tax on lawmakers who stay the night cozied up close to their fax machines instead of heading home.

The group named 33 members, including Reps. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, and Mike Quigley, D-Ill., in a complaint to the Office of Congressional Ethics, though lawmakers have responded to the charge with “little more than a yawn.”
