She has worked for one of New York’s most controversial media figures, but is airing out her opinion about it in D.C.
Former Gawker.com editor Emily Gould told Yeas and Nays that she doesn’t miss the gossip scene or her old boss, Nick Denton, former owner of Wonkette.
“It’s a hard job and you’re working for a crazy person. … I mean, it’s just so incredibly obvious to me what a lunatic [he is],” she said. “It’s like, not a cute look for a 40-something-year-old man.”
Denton couldn’t be reached for comment by press time.
This week Gould visited Silver Spring, her hometown, and D.C. to promote her new book, “And the Heart Says Whatever.” Despite her willingness to talk Gawker, she doesn’t spend much time on it in her book, instead detailing her becoming an adult in New York and the sex, drugs and crappy jobs that came with that.
Might sound sexy, but she says the reviews have been terrible. She’ll finish up her tour with stops in New York and the Midwest.
