As Britain— and the rest of the world —counts down the days to the royal wedding, Washington’s party planners are working out the details for viewing parties with a regal touch.
One such event will be taking place at the Washington Ritz-Carlton. The hotel will be holding a Royal Wedding Breakfast & Viewing Party, giving guests the option to sleep over the night before. Those who decide to partake in the slumber party will get champagne cocktails when they arrive, engraved champagne flutes from the Tiny Jewel Box, an iPad (not to keep) that can be used to examine the wedding’s procession route and the book “William & Kate: Celebrating a Royal Engagement.”
In the morning, executive chef David Serus will prepare a British breakfast buffet that will include scones with clotted cream and jam, English rasher and bangers and black pudding. Cupcakes will also be served.
The Royal Wedding Overnight Package is going for $429. For those who want to attend the breakfast and watch the event on the hotel’s 60-inch flat screen, the cost is $40 per person. Reservations are a must.
