Jeb Bush is proud of his record as governor of Florida, but that doesn’t mean home state voters are enthusiastic about his presidential bid.
According to a new Public Policy Polling poll released Tuesday, 47 percent of Floridians believe that Bush, who served as governor from 1999-2007, should drop out of the 2016 presidential race. Forty percent of respondents believe Bush, who is number four in the Washington Examiner‘s presidential power rankings, should continue with his bid.
In addition, 48 percent of those polled also believe Florida Sen. Marco Rubio should end his bid as well, with 42 percent urging him to push forward. Rubio ranks sixth in the Examiner power rankings.
The numbers fall in line with the latest poll out of the Sunshine State, where Donald Trump and Ben Carson lead the home state duo. Trump’s lead in national and early primary polls extends to Florida as well, where he leads with 28 percent support and Carson pulls in 17 percent.
Meanwhile, the support for the pair combined is less than that for Trump, with Bush and Rubio raking in only 13 and 10 percent, respectively.
Public Policy Polling is a Democratic firm.
