Warren goes for Trump’s jugular on Colbert

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., had strong words for GOP front-runner Donald Trump late Wednesday. The senator spent her entire interview on CBS’ late night show with Stephen Colbert bashing the Manhattan real estate mogul.

“Calling on Donald Trump to fix the economy is like calling an arsonist to put out a house fire,” Warren said.

The senator relentlessly attacked the Republican candidate, leaving Colbert little time to get a word in.

“This isn’t name-calling. This is taking the credential that he claims he’s running on and that is his business success and saying ‘no, buster, we’re not buying that. He is not a business success, he’s a business loser,” Warren told Colbert.

The Democratic senator, whom many liberals had hoped would run for the Oval Office this cycle, continued with her attack on Trump’s weatlh and businesses. Warren said Trump was handed his riches and did not work for it.

“He wasn’t out there doing these fabulous deals. He started out rich. He cheated his way to getting richer,” Warren said. “That is not gonna build an America for hardworking people. He’s gonna leave them in the dirt like he’s left everyone else in the dirt.”

Although Colbert prodded, Warren would not share her preference between Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
