The White House named its new social secretary — current senior adviser to the ambassador of France, Jeremy Bernard.
Bernard, who follows two female social secretaries, Desiree Rogers and Julianna Smoot, will take over planning duties for state dinners, the Easter egg rolls and many other White House gatherings.
A native of San Antonio, Bernard worked as a White House liaison to the National Endowment for the Humanities from 2008 to 2010 and also worked on President Obama‘s presidential campaign. He has also taken a roll in gay and lesbian associations, such as the National Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund and Access Now for Gay & Lesbian Equality.
