Nigerian officials hope to finalize the release of more than 200 schoolgirls from Boko Haram by Tuesday of next week.
Two government sources declined to tell Reuters the location of the proposed handover, but that they “believe we are talking to the right people.”
A ceasefire was announced Friday, and the Nigerian government said they would respect the agreement.
Nigeria instituted a state of emergency in the region in 2013, with Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan promising to destroy the insurgency.
The girls were kidnapped from their school in northeast Nigeria in April.
First Lady Michelle Obama spurred a Twitter campaign in May with the hashtag message “Bring Back Our Girls.”
