The latest batch of Hillary Clinton emails released by the State Department includes a flow chart of who was and was not allowed to ride in the car with the secretary of state.
Of course, Clinton’s top aide Huma Abedin got first priority, but if she wasn’t available, Jake Sullivan got the coveted spot, followed by Capricia Marshall. If there was an ambassador present, the secretary of state would sit with him or her — if they were considered “tolerable.” Finally, if Clinton had to ride alone, she would call Marshall or Philippe Reines to jump in the limo with her.
While the flow chart appears to have been written with a modicum of humor, the secretary’s staff likely followed the rank listed.
Unlike the past seven document releases, when the Clinton campaign has been defensive or largely avoided the topic, aides ribbed each other over the disclosed chart.
“Philippe offers flow chart breaking down who has riding privileges w/ HRC when Huma Abedin is unavailable. Awesome,” Clinton campaign press secretary Brian Fallon tweeted just minutes after the batch of emails was released.
The State Department is set to release one additional batch of emails in January in order to comply with a federal court order.
