Obama approves measure funding government until Dec. 22

President Obama signed a short-term bill into law Wednesday that fully funds the government until next Tuesday, Dec. 22.

The measure was previously approved unanimously by both the House and Senate.

This measure may only be a placeholder, however.

On Tuesday, congressional leaders reached a tentative deal to fund the government through September of 2016. The House will formally consider that legislation on Friday while the Senate plans to vote on the bill before Congress adjourns for the holidays.
