Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton is on the long list of folks coming to D.C. next month to fete the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s artistic director Michael Kahn and to celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary. While other guests will perform opera, ballet, theater and musical theater, we hear that Clinton will merely be giving remarks. She was a big fan of the company’s performances when she lived in Washington.
Notables actors scheduled to attend include Patrick Stewart, Bradley Whitford, Pat Carroll, Harry Hamlin, Stacy Keach and Richard Thomas. The gala will start in the home of the Shakespeare Theater Company, Sidney Harman Hall, and conclude with dinner and dancing at the National Building Museum. It’s not a cheap seat either, with individual tickets and tables ranging from $750 to $50,000.
