Trump: Protesters should face consequences

Donald Trump on Friday said there should be consequences for protesters who interrupt his rallies.

During a boisterous rally in St. Louis where he was interrupted frequently, Trump complained about the lack of consequences protesters face for interrupting his rallies.

“You know, part of the problem and part of the reason it takes so long is nobody wants to hurt each other anymore, right? And they’re being politically correct the way they take them out so it takes a little bit longer. And honestly, protesters, they realize it. They realize that there are no consequences to protesting anymore. There used to be consequences. There are none anymore. Are they gone, yeah, they’re gone,” Trump said. “Our country has to toughen up, folks, we have to toughen up.”

Trump did not clarify what kind of consequences he would like protesters to face.

The GOP front-runner has said previously he does not condone supporters attacking fellow audience members and reiterated that stance in a press conference Thursday after a 78-year-old white man punched a black protester in North Carolina who had flipped off everyone.
