The nightly newscasts on ABC, NBC and CBS collectively dedicated a vast majority of their coverage of the Democratic presidential race to Hillary Clinton, according to a new study.
The conservative Media Research Center found that from the start of January to the end of October, Clinton received 80 percent of the coverage of Democratic candidates, though there are four others in the race.
Vice President Joe Biden, who has not said he will enter the race, received the second-most coverage with 13 percent.
Bernie Sanders got 6 percent and Martin O’Malley got 1 percent. Lincoln Chafee and Jim Webb, who are also running, did not receive even a minute of coverage between them, the study said.
Clinton is currently the front-runner of the Democratic field, though her lead has been dramatically reduced in recent weeks in light of Sanders’ growing popularity and a barrage of negative coverage for Clinton regarding her email controversy.
The Democrats are set to share a stage next Tuesday for the party’s first nationally televised debate on CNN.
