The NRSC is targeting swing voters in Georgia Friday night with robocalls that seek to tie Democrat Michelle Nunn to President Obama.
Nunn is threatening to flip a Republican-leaning Peach State Senate seat in a midterm election cycle that otherwise tilts toward the GOP. Her attacks against Republican nominee David Perdue for “outsourcing” jobs have helped make the race competitive.
The NRSC, formerly the National Republican Senatorial Committee, has invested in Georgia in an attempt to hold the open seat for the GOP. Obama recently said that a Nunn victory could help ensure that Democrats maintain control of the Senate on Election Day Nov. 4.
“The president is right. If Michelle Nunn is elected she will be just another vote for Obama and the Democrats. Votes for more taxes, more spending and allowing executive amnesty for illegal immigrants,” Ron Bonjean, spokesman for the NRSC’s independent expenditure arm, told the Washington Examiner.
