A new Fox News national poll found GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is the only Republican who would lose to Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton in a November match-up.
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Ohio Gov. John Kasich both beat the former secretary of state in hypothetical one-on-ones and Kasich, the third-ranked candidate, has the biggest lead over Clinton in the March 20-22 poll.
The majority of registered voters picked Kasich over Clinton, 51-40. Cruz took home 47 percent of support, three points more than Clinton’s 44 percent in that matchup. At the bottom of the pack, Trump was dealt a double-digit defeat by Clinton, 38 percent to 49 percent, respectively.
Kasich was also the only conservative candidate who could beat Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in the general election. Kasich won 44 percent and Sanders took 43 percent. Cruz and Trump both lost to Sanders, but the Manhattan businessman’s loss was significantly higher than Cruz’s. Sanders snagged the win from Trump with a 14-point advantage, 52-38.
Those polled also awarded Kasich with the highest level of confidence regarding any of the candidates’ ability to make the “right decision on Supreme Court nominations.” Kasich won 62 percent, topping Cruz’s’ 55 percent and Sanders’ 54 percent. Clinton received 50 percent and Trump received the lowest rating with 38 percent.
All of the polls had a 3 percent margin of error.
