Watch: Aziz Ansari skewers Bobby Jindal on ‘Tonight Show’

Comedian Aziz Ansari busted out his Bobby Jindal impression on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” Wednesday by parodying the candidate’s beliefs and campaign’s lack of success thus far.

“I’m used to appearing on C-SPAN at like 2 a.m. right before they start airing those NutriBullet infomercials, so this is crazy,” a grinning Ansari said, a nod to Jindal not receiving much air time at this point in the election cycle.

Fallon started things off by asking about Jindal’s poll numbers, which have been consistently hovering around 1 or 2 percent support.

“I’m not polling at 1 percent. I was polling at 1 percent, but now I’m polling at 2 percent,” Ansari said enthusiastically. “That is a 100 percent increase. It’s a huge difference. You ever taste 1 percent milk? It’s barely milk! It’s like drinking white water. But man, when you start dumping that 2 percent milk on your Apple Jacks, it’s like pow! You can taste the fat. It’s a game-changer.”

“Actually, that is my new campaign slogan. Jindal 2016: Taste the Fat.”

Fallon then ribbed the fake candidate on the relatively small number of supporters who show up to his campaign events.

“If you call packing a Long John Silver’s to the brim a ‘small turnout,’ then yeah, we’ve had some ‘small turnouts,'” Ansari said, using air quotes. “Full disclosure: A few of those people thought they were coming to a meet-and-greet with the guy from ‘Big Bang Theory.’ The truth is that once they heard my policies, they were on board and my campaign is really starting to heat up.”

Then came the subject of Jindal not believing in global warming, which Ansari took to its logistical extreme.

“I don’t believe in global warming. In fact, I’m the only candidate who doesn’t believe in any science, period,” the comedian said. “There are a lot of people running for president who buy into these science myths. Like photosynthesis, are you serious? Some people believe that plants are taking in sunlight and turning it into oxygen. To me, that’s ludicrous. How could it do that, it’s a plant.”

Fallon asked Ansari about how he plans on toppling Donald Trump, who currently is fourth on the Washington Examiner‘s presidential power rankings (Jindal is seventh).

“Donald Trump likes to pretend he’s a great businessman. But did you know he spent $1 million on those stupid ‘Make America Great Again’ hats? That’s like twice what I spent on my whole campaign combined,” Ansari said before showing off his hilariously tiny campaign hats that “show what true conservative spending is.”

“Bobby Jindal: Wear the hat, taste the fat,” he said, ending the sketch.

Jindal tweeted his approval of Ansari’s impression Thursday, even roping in Kal Penn, another Indian-American actor, to the conversation.

Penn responded an hour later, and somehow brought South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, also of Indian descent, into the Twitter banter.
