Speakeasy: Albright shares earthquake story

“I thought they were digging up the house.”

Former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright‘s reaction to the 5.8 magnitude earthquake that was felt throughout the Washington region on Tuesday. She told Yeas & Nays she was at home “moving” as she was doing some work.  Albright was the keynote speaker for Wednesday night’s “Honoring Global Leaders for Peace” gala at the Washington Convention Center. Before discussing Martin Luther King Jr.‘s contributions to a global society, the petite former Secretary of State known for her colorful pin collection shared what she was wearing. “In case you all are wondering what pin I have one tonight, I have a Lincoln pin and it says, ‘one, country, one destiny,'” Albright said.
