How many hats can Michelle Rhee wear?
When local glossy Washington Life reached out to the D.C. public schools chancellor and asked her to craft a column for its holiday issue, Rhee happily agreed. But when does she find the time?
“She typically writes between the hours of 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., and will collaborate with staff depending on the topic, the deadline, the length,” her spokeswoman Jennifer Calloway told Yeas & Nays.
Her recent column details her three wishes for the holiday season (No. 1: more outrage over crappy school systems) and is part of the ” ‘Tis the season to give … and give back” feature in the magazine.
She’s not slated to be a regular contributor to the magazine, but Managing Editor Karin Tanabe said she would love to have her back.
“It was very well-put-together,” Tanabe said. “I salute her writing and grammar.”
