Attention all candidates: Donald Trump is not getting out of the 2016 race.
During an interview with CNN’s “New Day” Tuesday, the 2016 GOP front-runner made that abundantly clear, telling host Chris Cuomo that he, in fact, isn’t “going anywhere” and will win the GOP nomination.
His answer was partly his ongoing response to NBC’s Chuck Todd, who asked him Sunday about what it would take for him to drop out of the race. Coupled with subsequent chatter on the subject, Trump fired back.
“Not even a thought [of dropping out]. Not even one percent of a thought. Look, it’s a phony deal that was perpetrated by the public,” Trump said. “Why would I get out?”
“So they ask me a question, and instead of saying like these politicians, I watch these guys who are down at zero and one percent, and they ask the same question, ‘What do you think about getting out?’ ‘Oh, I’ll never get out. I’ll never get out,’ and you know they’re going to be out in the next two weeks, but they say that because they’re politicians,” Trump told Cuomo.
“I’m not getting out. I’m not going anywhere, Chris,” Trump said. “I’m leading every poll. I’m leading every state. I’m not going anywhere, okay?”
Trump has reason to not get out of the race as he continues to lead the GOP field and heads the Washington Examiner’s latest power rankings.
“I’m not going anywhere … and I’m going to win, and I’m going to make our country great again,” Trump said. “I’m not in this to have self-glorification, I’ve had plenty of that. I don’t need that.”
“It’s so disgusting. I’ll tell you what, the media is so dishonest. It’s so disgusting,” Trump said. “Let me make it a little bit different, I’m not getting out, I’m going to win.”
“I’m going all the way, and we’re going to win,” Trump said.
