The late Chuck Brown received an unusual honor on the day of his public viewing — personalized emergency parking signs from D.C.’s Dept. of Transportation. Four signs showed up in front of the Howard Theatre, where Brown lay in repose, on Tuesday, each bearing a photo of the Godfather of Go-Go with Mayor Vince Gray and a message: “WE WILL MISS U CHUCK.”
A DDOT spokesperson confirmed that the signs were “a spontaneous tribute to Chuck Brown by some of our employees.” We’re sure the entire city concurred.
