GOP candidates show each other tough love

With last night’s Iowa caucuses ringing in the official start of the 2012 presidential campaign, we’ve gone and found you the ugliest insults that the GOP candidates have hurled at each other thus far, starting with one that certainly sets the bar: Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum‘s take on Texas Congressman Ron Paul.

“Ron Paul is disgusting.” – Santorum blaming Paul’s campaign for a series of robocalls that tagged Santorum as pro-choice and anti-gun.

“Yes.” – Newt Gingrich‘s response when asked by CBS’s Norah O’Donnell if Mitt Romney was a liar.

“A porker’s best friend.” – What Rick Perry‘s ad said about Santorum’s alleged love for pork barrel projects.

“He’s very liberal.” – Ron Paul on Santorum.

“He’s memory challenged.” – Michele Bachmann on Gingrich.

“I haven’t been on three sides of all the issues of the day.” – Jon Huntsman‘s critique of Romney.

“I don’t think Ron Paul represents the mainstream of Republican thought with regards to issues, particularly in foreign policy.” – Romney talking about Paul.
