Bush: America settling for ‘anemic growth’ under Obama

White House candidate Jeb Bush said Friday that the disappointing job numbers for September are another reason why the next president needs to approve the Keystone XL pipeline, and said the latest report on economic growth under Obama was “disappointing.”

“Another disappointing jobs report. We can do so much better with conservative, pro-growth policies,” Bush tweeted. “We can’t settle for 2 percent anemic growth. Unleashing the American energy revolution will get us to 4 percent.”

The government released a jobs report saying the economy added 142,000 jobs in September, well below the 200,000 or so economists expected. The government also revised lower job growth in July and August.

By mid-Friday morning, no other GOP candidates had weighed in on the jobs report. Front-runner Donald Trump, who has often tweeted his reactions on jobs updates, was retweeting several gushing supporters’ tweets and saying how Hurricane Joaquin has re-arranged his campaign travel plans.

“I was so looking forward to being in Virginia Beach, Virginia, today,” Trump tweeted. “The demand for tickets was amazing. Good luck with storm, back soon! Will be in Nashville, Tennessee, tomorrow (Saturday) at 2:30 P.M. So much to talk about — see you there!”

Democrat candidate Bernie Sanders, who has a huge Twitter following, was silent on the economic news, but tweeted: “The debate is over. Climate change is real. It is caused by human activity. It is already causing devastating problems around the world.”

Within an hour his tweet had already racked up over 800 retweets.
