Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell no doubt had President Obama‘s back when he jumped in the middle of an altercation between two people at the Alaska Airlines lounge at Seattle Airport —one of whom called the other an offensive name for making a pro-Obama statement. According to one witness at the lounge, Cornell confronted the man who said the offensive word, saying, “You’re a [bleep]. You deliberately called him a queer to make him feel uncomfortable in front of a lot of people.” After that, security stepped in to remove the man who’d said the word, while airport reps and the recipient of the slur thanked him. At the time, Cornell was headed to San Francisco to headline a Thursday-night fundraising concert for Obama.
