Are Clinton backers bad with money?

A new survey by WalletHub concluded Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s supporters have the lowest credit scores among the five remaining candidates’ supporters.

A net 26 percent of Clinton supporters had a low credit score, defined as below 620. Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders’ supporters had the second worst numbers with 22 percent.

GOP front-runner Donald Trump took third place as 20 percent of the Manhattan businessman’s backers boasted low credit scores.

At the opposite end of the spectrum were Ohio Gov. John Kasich, recent drop-out Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s supporters. Nearly 60 percent of Kasich’s supporters had excellent credit scores while 58 percent of Rubio’s and 55 percent of Cruz supporters did, according to the March 9-13 national poll.

Credit scores also indicate basic demographics of voters. Higher credit scores are often associated with older voters since it can take time to establish a good score, but that is not always the case.
