‘Real World D.C.’ cameo sues for $5m

How much is an embarrassing stint on a reality TV show worth?

Lawyers for 22-year-old Golzar Amirmotazedi, who appeared briefly on an episode of MTV’s “The Real World D.C.,” say it’s worth $5 million.

Amirmotazedi is suing Viacom, MTV Networks and the production company Bunim/Murray for invasion of privacy and infliction of emotional distress.

The plaintiff, a Bethesda resident, partied with cast members Andrew Woods and Josh Colon at the Sign of the Whale in September. They “fed” her between eight and 10 alcoholic beverages, according to the complaint, and then she accompanied them to the Dupont Circle house. She was kicked out, intoxicated and unable to drive home, around 3 a.m.

When the show aired, Woods called her a “Debbie Downer,” and other cast members described her as a “hot mess” and “that ugly girl.” Members of the general public also chimed in, causing the plaintiff to become depressed and receive harassing text messages, among other things.

Her attorney Jason Ehrenberg told Yeas & Nays that Amirmotazedi doesn’t remember going to the house or signing a contract with producers.

“It’s unfortunate, it’s just a young lady and they took advantage of her, and quite frankly I don’t care if she signed something, she didn’t know what she was signing,” he said. “We are pretty confident that the court will let this case go forward.”

MTV did not comment by press time.
