200: Number of political fundraisers the restaurant Carmine’s has hosted since opening last August.
The Penn Quarter Italian eatery, known for its generous portions and private backrooms, met this mark Tuesday as four political events were being put on. Rep. Dan Boren, D-Okla., Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., and Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas had all booked events. Continuing with the trend, Rep. Jim Clyburn, D-S.C., and Loretta Sanchez, D-Calif., had events scheduled for Wednesday.
The restaurant was also nominated for a Restaurant Association RAMMY for D.C.’s best “Power Spot.”
