Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton wrestled for the right to speak early on in Sunday evening’s Democratic debate in Flint, Mich.
As Sanders began to riff on Clinton’s Wall Street connections and their part in the Great Recession, Clinton tried to jump in.
“If you are talking about the Wall Street bailout, where some of your friends destroyed this economy,” Sanders started.
“You know —,” Clinton began.
“Excuse me, I’m talking,” Sanders said, cutting Clinton off with a wave of the hand, as boos and cheers erupted in the audience.
“If you’re going to talk, tell the whole story senator,” Clinton chimed in.
“Let me tell my story, you tell yours,” Sanders replied.
“I will,” Clinton said.
“Your story is for voting for every disastrous trade agreement, and voting for corporate America,” said Sanders, before retelling his story of how he told the Wall Street billionaires to bail themselves out.
“Okay so —,” Clinton said, trying to get back in the conversation.
“Wait a minute, can I finish? You’ll have your turn,” Sanders fired back.
