Negative coverage of the Trump administration dominated programming on the nightly newscasts of the three big networks, according to a new study.
The right-leaning Media Research Center looked at the first 30 days of President Trump’s time in office and found that 88 percent of the coverage of the White House has been negative.
The study based its findings on statements from the reporters, contributors and soundbites from regular citizens interviewed in the news packages on NBC, ABC and CBS. The study excluded statements made by partisan pundits.
The White House executive order on immigration, which has been stalled in courts and in the process of being replaced, received the most scrutiny from the newscasts, the study said. Coverage of the order amounted to about 20 percent of total coverage of the administration, according to the study.
