Although lots of people were exhausted from Tuesday’s inaugural festivities, many Barack Obama supporters were still fired up and ready to go come Wednesday morning for a brunch hosted by Americans for the Arts.
Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary) had attendees dancing and singing along, including actress Kerry Washington, who had to acknowledge that she’s only slept “about 10 hours over the past four days.” Still, she said “all the days have blended into one,” and definitely did not forget a minute of Tuesday or the “joyful” emotions she felt while sitting at the swearing-in ceremony.
Her friend, actress Joy Bryant, was also in attendance, and echoed Washington’s excitement about Obama, saying that she “can only say ‘Wow.’ I can’t think of a better word to describe what I’m feeling than ‘wow.’ ”
Reps. Paul Hodes, D-N.H., and Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., were overheard telling Washington what a great job she’s doing in raising money for the arts.
