Donald Trump has a message for political donors and special interests: “I don’t want their money, I don’t need their money.”
GOP presidential contender Trump spoke out against the special interest that are funding his rivals in the Republican field Saturday night, after getting booed for chastising former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush at the GOP debate being held in Manchester, New Hampshire.
“That’s all of his donors and special interests out there,” he said after Trump got the crowd in an uproar for calling Bush a “tough guy” and mocking him as not being that tough a candidate. At one point, he told Bush to be quiet in a spat over the issue of eminent domain.
Trump implied that the sustained booing was coming from Bush’s supporters, who were the only ones allowed to have tickets for the Saturday debate.
“And by the way let me just tell you, we needed tickets. You know who has the tickets? Donors, special interests, the people that are putting up the money,” he said. “The [Republican National Committee] told us we have all the donors in the audience.
Time reporter Zeke Miller tweeted out that only 75 people of the 1,000 in the audience are RNC donors.

“The reason they aren’t loving me, is I don’t want their money,” Trump said. “I want to do the right thing for the American public. I don’t want their money, I don’t need their money. I am the only one up here that can say that.”
