She’s a cook, a cake-baker, a decorating diva and a media mogul, and now Martha Stewart can boast another title as a proud, first-time grandmother of a baby girl named Jude, born to her daughter, Alexis Stewart, via a gestational carrier on March 8.
The 45-year-old Alexis has made no secret over the years about her struggle to conceive a child, telling People in
2007 that she was spending more than $20,000 a month on fertility treatments. But her daughter Jude has been worth the effort, she said.
Martha, who has wasted no time in spoiling the newborn, boasted on her show Friday “I got to see her when she was about 36 hours old — she is very alert and doesn’t cry. Ideal baby.”
