Authorities were summoned to Trump’s Manhattan apartment to ensure the envelop did not contain anthrax. The letter was mailed March 5 from an unidentified sender in Boston, according to officials.
ABC News reports that the letter referenced the White House bid of Trump’s father, Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.
“If your father does not drop out of the race, the next envelope won’t be a fake,” the sender reportedly wrote. Law enforcement officials declined to reveal the signature at the bottom of the letter.
Eric Trump is one of five children of the New York businessman and has frequently joined his father on the campaign trail.
