COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is appealing to a higher power on the eve of the Iowa caucus. In a state where an overwhelming majority of caucus-goers are evangelical protestants, Trump is hoping their support can close the gap between him and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas.
