“They literally think you can just balance the budget by cutting waste, fraud and abuse, foreign aid and NPR,” said Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wisc., in an interview with the Associated Press. “And it doesn’t work like that.”
Ryan went on to explain that Republicans would need to tackle bigger things in the next budget cycle, including entitlement reform, saying that health care entitlements are the driving force behind America’s debt.
