Sylvester mirrors Bachmann in new season of ‘Glee’

Actress Jane Lynch couldn’t help but compare her “Glee” character Sue Sylvester — who’ll be running for Congress on an anti-arts platform in this season’s show — to Rep. Michele Bachmann while talking with MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell Tuesday night (though most of the comparing was going on in O’Donnell’s corner).

After noting that Bachmann would probably want to say overtly bigoted things, like Sue Sylvester’s snarky comment against “sneaky gays” in one clip, Lawrence called it a “comment on where we are politically right now in the distance between what she just said and the reality of what you’re watching in the Republican presidential primary and Tea Party politics. There’s not that big a gap.” Lynch agreed, saying, “It almost makes it less funny because it is very very real … There are people who think that.”
