‘Oh for goodness…’: Clinton dodges indictment question

Hillary Clinton dodged a line of questions about her private e-mail server during the first few minutes of the Univision Democratic debate in Miami on Wednesday night.

Jorge Ramos asked the former secretary of state if she “issued one set of rules for yourself and a different set of rules for the rest of the state department?” and “Would you drop out of the race if you get indicted?” Clinton avoided directly answering these questions and others.

The democratic front-runner reverted to her usual e-mail server answer. She told the audience the private, unprotected server was not “the best choice” but it was not against the rules as “my predecessors did the same thing.” During the last Democratic debate in Flint, Clinton compared her email use to that of former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

Although Clinton says that she “asked” for her e-mails to be released, they were in fact released under a court order. Although Clinton maintains had no classified material on her server, the FBI is currently investigating hundreds of classified materials found on the server.

When pressed further on the possibility of indictment, the candidate became short with the moderators.

“Oh for goodness… That is not going to happen. I’m not even answering that question,” Clinton responded.
