Washington already is packed with cupcakeries and frozen yogurt joints, but another dessert mecca is coming to Georgetown.
Serendipity 3, the New York restaurant famous for its decadent ice cream creations, is expected to open this spring in the spot vacated by Nathan’s.
“With [Rodrigo Garcia’s] family’s knack for attention, and Serendipity 3’s notoriously long lines and wait times, there should be a lively traffic jam from day one,” former Nathan’s owner Carol Joynt wrote on Washington Social Diary.
Garcia and Britt Swan signed a lease for the spot earlier this week. Nathan’s had occupied the spot for 40 years before closing last summer.
