Rubio: Clinton ‘knows’ I’m ‘going to beat her’ if I win GOP nod

MARSHALLTOWN, IowaSen. Marco Rubio took direct aim at former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Wednesday, saying that even she herself knows that he will defeat her in a general election in November.

The 2016 hopeful told a packed crowd during a town hall that Clinton “knows” that he is “going to beat her” if he secures the GOP nomination. He also took her to task over her tenure over the State Department, pressing that she’s “disqualified” herself from the presidency by using a private email server during that time.

“Over the next few weeks you’re going to hear Hillary Clinton attacking me and lying a lot about my foreign policy record and I know exactly why: She does not want to run against me,” Rubio said. “She knows that if I am the nominee we are going to beat her. She doesn’t want to run against me but I can’t wait to run against her.”

“She is a failed secretary of state. She is a disastrous secretary of state. All of the foreign policy issues we’ve faced around the world happened under her watch,” Rubio said. “And by the way, she is disqualified from being commander in chief because she recklessly and irresponsibly used her email server, she recklessly and irresponsibly lied about Benghazi.”

Rubio went on to imply that Clinton lied to the families of the four individuals who died on Sept. 11, 2012 during the attack. The attack came days after Clinton insisted that she did not lie to the family members in which she allegedly blamed a video for the attack.

“She told the families of those four brave Americans: ‘Oh this was just a spontaneous uprising because of a YouTube video.’ And then she was telling her family members and foreign leaders and others that this was a planned terrorist attack,” Rubio said. “Someone who does that can never be commander in chief or president of the United States.”
