Last spring, actor Pierce Brosnan came to Capitol Hill to talk about whales; this year, he’s taking his message straight to the president.
Brosnan shot a new publice service announcement for the International Fund for Animal Welfare and also sent a letter to President Obama asking him not to support a proposal that would give Japan, Iceland and Norway a license to kill whales.
“As a candidate, you promised to end illegal whaling and we applauded your leadership,” Brosnan crooned in the PSA before harpooning the president for potentially changing his stance. In the letter, he pens that “Change we can believe in” can extend beyond America’s shores to benefit the whales.
