The first GOP debate for the 2012 primary is scheduled for May 2 and some presidential hopefuls might want to take heed. Though it’s widely accepted that looks do play a part in elections, some experts think there’s a risk in candidates looking too perfect. “Voters want authenticity. And they increasingly prefer candidates who, like themselves, have flaws. People are suspicious of perfection or model looks,” said Republican political consultant Mark McKinnon in an article on Politics Daily.
