Mel Gibson can’t seem to stay out of trouble. But he won’t have to spend any time in jail for charges of abuse against ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, which were filed after a blowout between the couple in January 2010.
Mel appeared before a judge Friday to plead no contest to charges of simple battery, according to TMZ. This follows Wednesday’s news that Gibson struck a deal with the L.A. County district attorney, pleading to misdemeanor battery rather than felony domestic violence. The decision will require Mel to undergo counseling, but no jail time.
