Tim Daly joins ‘Will on the Hill’ cast

Bad acting and butchered lines are things we’ve come to expect from the annual “Will on the Hill” fundraiser, a play put on mostly by Members of Congress. But this year the event, which benefits the Shakespeare Theatre Company, has attracted a bit more talent with “Private Practice’s” Tim Daly.

Daly, who also heads the Creative Coalition, will perform a Shakespearean skit alongside cast members Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., House Members Shelley Berkley, D-Nev., Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., Jared Polis, D-Colo., and Linda Sanchez, D-Calif., journalists Howard Fineman and Major Garrett, and actor Euan Morton, among others.

“I think he will definitely set the bar,” event organizer Mandy Prather said of Daly. “I think he’s excited about the people he’s going to be on stage with and will set the bar for them and potentially add a new element to his resume.”

Regular tickets for the May 2 event are sold out, but VIP tickets and sponsorship opportunities are still available. The performance will take place at Sidney Harman Hall in Chinatown.
