Rand Paul PAC zings Jeb with ‘Bailout Bush’ ad

America’s Liberty PAC is hitting Republican presidential hopeful Jeb Bush with a new ad that labels Jeb Bush “Bailout Bush,” and singles him out for supporting several government bailouts.

“I love bailouts, you love bailouts, we all love bailouts! Look, trust me, Bailout Bush!” the ad said.

“Bailout Bush” also targets Bush’s support for the Troubled Asset Relief Program and is backed by America’s Liberty PAC, which has thrown support behind another presidential candidate, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky. ALPAC will spend five figures to air the commercial in several of the first primary states, the National Review reported.

“Several of Governor Bush’s conflicts with the Republican base have been well documented, but no one seems to be talking about perhaps the most damaging issue: Jeb’s long history of support for bailouts,” said ALPAC President John Tate said, according to the National Review.

Tate also acknowledged the Tea-Party’s strong stance against bailouts and its overall importance to Republicans.

“This issue alone leaves Jeb unable to lead the GOP to victory in 2016,” Tate said.

Paul announced his candidacy in April and shortly thereafter hired Jesse Benton, his niece’s husband, to help run the super PAC. Benton also served as Ron Paul’s campaign manager in 2012 and manager of Rand Paul’s 2010 Senate election.

The ad concludes with a humorous disclaimer.

“This offer guarantees the presidential candidate cannot win a single primary state, let alone the general election. Returns and refunds are not accepted.”
