Broken dreams, broken Web site for Specter

Just like his re-election campaign, Sen. Arlen Specter’s campaign Web site is gone, baby, gone.

His online campaign hub Monday reads nothing more than a “connection has timed out” message. According to the blog TechPresident, Specter’s Web site was frozen in time Wednesday afternoon after last Tuesday’s primary, asking for support and giving no indication that the incumbent senator had just lost the Democratic primary to rival Rep. Joe Sestak.

As of Thursday, according to Campaign Manager Christopher Nicholas, it was pulled offline. Nicholas added that supporters should be receiving their thank-yous via e-mail.

“It was the campaign Web site and the campaign’s over,” Nicholas said.

Specter’s senate Web site is still up and running fine — that is, until a new Pennsylvania senator takes over the reigns next January.
