Voters might have trouble relating to Mitt Romney, but at least one person gets a warm and fuzzy feeling around him – his wife, Ann — who describes his softer side in a new feature in Parade Magazine. There she dishes out some of the former Massachusetts governor’s more endearing traits. For instance, she said he’s got “piles and piles and piles of books” on his nightstand, and she recently got him to read “Anna Karenina” (a book she said they both liked); they spend their private nights at home watching “The Mentalist” and “Modern Family” on TV; and she’s always buying non-fat milk because he’s a big fan of cold breakfast cereal — Brown Sugar Chex Bites and Quaker Oatmeal Squares being his favorites. This is just the latest in the Romney camp’s attempt to bolster support for his candidacy by featuring his wife on the campaign trail, a tactic which has had mixed results as Mitt’s poll numbers have been eclipsed by Newt Gingrich, with the former house speaker now soaring ahead of Romney in early-voting states.
