White House Chef Sam Kass spiced up the what-could-have-been-boring 33rd annual National Food Policy Conference at the Renaissance Washington, DC Downtown Hotel on Wednesday morning.
The White House Healthy Food Initiatives senior food policy adviser gave the keynote address at the food forum which focused on improving child nutrition and heath. He talked about the first lady’s “Let’s Move” campaign and stressed the importance of child nutrition programs in schools, which are set to expire at the end of September. But what he wouldn’t elaborate on are the contents of the White House kitchen cupboards.
When Yeas & Nays asked the easy-on-the-eyes chef if there is any junk food at the White House, he politely replied, “Sorry ma’am, that’s top secret.”
In hopes he would spill the beans, we followed up by asking, “What would we see if we opened the pantry?”
Kass smiled and said, “That’s even more top secret. That’s supersecret.”
We’re just getting cooking with Kass.
