Clinton slams Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate who faulted her husband and gays in college writings

Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton immersed herself into Wisconsin politics during a Saturday night speech, ripping a state Supreme Court candidate who attacked gays, abortion rights and even Clinton’s husband in college writings 20 years ago.

At a campaign event in Milwaukee Saturday, Clinton described Wisconsin Supreme Court candidate Rebecca Bradley’s comments while Bradley was student at Marquette University as “hate speech.”

“No to discrimination. No to hate speech. And no to Bradley,” Clinton told the Democratic Party of Wisconsin Founders’ Day dinner, according to an Associated Press report. Wisconsin elects its seven Supreme Court members.

As a college student, Bradley called homosexuals “queers and “degenerates.”

After Clinton’s husband Bill Clinton won the presidential election in 1992, Bradley called him “queer loving.” Bradley has apologized during the campaign, saying she is embarrassed by the “content and tone” of what she wrote.

But Clinton attacked the candidate in an evident effort to court Democratic voters in Wisconsin. Polls show her trailing rival Bernie Sanders in the state’s upcoming primary, but within striking distance.
